In 2008 I spent two weeks on the grounds of Birr Castle Demesne, County Offaly, Ireland. I strolled, wrote, talked, and photographed. Slowly I began to understand the language of the various gardens of the Demesne.
Flowers offer an interesting perspective on the passage of time, one that carries the hope of renewal within the rhythmic patterns of growth and decay.
